This summer, the Carter family, who is new to the Cassville community and school district, held a lemonade stand and their two young daughters took care of everything from making the cookies and lemonade, sitting at the stand for two days selling their tasty snacks and even made a delivery to one customer! The girls raised over $100 dollars and decided in an effort to spread kindness and share a blessing with somebody, they would donate their funds to our Bright Futures program.
"The girls and I were in the car talking about blessings & thankfulness and how we can bless others and they decided they wanted to have a lemonade stand when their grandma was in town" said Janelle Carter. "When talking about thankfulness, Alexis got the idea to take whatever money they raised at the lemonade stand and donate it to someone else. As we were talking, Bright Futures came up as a way some people chose to bless others. They talked about several different options before she and Kynadee decided Bright Futures would be perfect."
Bright Futures, established at Cassville Schools in 2011, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing community members together to focus on the success of children.
