OPEN HOUSE AND PARENT EDUCATION NIGHT
Cassville Middle School will host an open house to conclude the Parent-Student-Teacher Conference window on Thursday, November 1, 5-7 p.m. Parents will be able to meet and talk with all teachers in their rooms, and there will be educational seminars specifically for parents.
The educational seminars will include two short presentations by CMS Counselor, Amy Cole on Missouri Connections- a career and college planning resource available for free to all Missouri residents- and the evening will conclude with Matt Smith, a Detective from the Southwest Missouri Cybercrimes Task Force discussing with parents how internet and cell phone safety is more important today than ever. He will cover topics such as sexually explicit sharing, how to monitor your child’s cellular activity, and what the consequences can be for both adults and children at school and at home. The Missouri Connections presentations will be tailored toward middle school-aged children, while the Cybercrimes presentation will be open to all Cassville parents with an interest. Missouri Connections will be from 5:00-5:30 and from 5:30-6:00 PM, while Cybercromes will begin at 6:00 PM and end as needed. Both presentations will include time for Q & A. Presentations will be located in the Event Center near the Middle School Gym. Specific information on both Missouri Connections and the Cybercrimes Task Force are below.
