Arvest Bank Awards $500 to Beagle
First-Grade Teacher One of 116 Winners Throughout Arvest Footprint
Arvest Bank is pleased to announce Courtney Beagle as the winner of a $500 award given to teachers throughout its four-state footprint. A total of 116 awards, totaling $58,000, are being given this year.
Beagle, who teaches first grade at Eunice Thomas Elementary in Cassville, plans to spend some time over Christmas break evaluating the best way to use the contribution.
“I am extremely grateful for the gift from ARVEST Bank,” stated Beagle. “It is so nice to have businesses in the community invest in our students' learning by assisting teachers. Plus, my students were just as excited as I was!”
“It is a lot of money that can be used in so many ways. I plan to sit down and do some research as to what it can be used towards. I want it to be something that can be helpful to this year’s students, as well as my students in years to come.”
The Arvest initiative to honor educators was launched on Oct. 15. Nominations were accepted via the Arvest Bank Facebook page, and the awards come at a time when some school budgets have been cut.
“Arvest is thrilled to help support not just Ms. Beagle, but all of our award recipients,” Arvest marketing manager Kyle Roberts said. “We know how hard teachers work to educate the children in our communities, and we hope these prizes can make their jobs a little easier.”
