Important Internet Safety Tips for Parents
February 28, 2019
1.) Supervise sites your child is visiting. Make sure you know what they are looking at is age appropriate.
2.) Do not give out personal information such as name, address phone number, etc. Remind your kids of this as well.
3.) Be cautious about opening attachments, downloading files or clicking on links.
4.) Trust your gut. If you feel uncomfortable with something or somebody your child is interacting with online, report the concern to the police or other people who can help.
5.) Remind kids to tell their parent or guardian right away if they come across something that makes them feel uncomfortable.
While screen time (including smart phones, computers, tablets, television or games) can be safe and educational activity for your children, remember to limit as much as possible and encourage your children to do other activities as well.
