Chappell: First Lady Wildcat to Earn Golf State Medal at CHS
Cassville High School Sophomore Avery Chappell has made Wildcat Nation history! On Monday and Tuesday, she competed in the Class 2 MSHSAA State Golf Tournament at Columbia Country Club in Columbia, Missouri and finished in tenth place, making her the first Lady Wildcat Golfer in school history to earn a state medal.
Chappell was joined by her teammate, Alyzea Myers, at the state tournament. Myers is a CHS Senior.
"I want to thank Alyzea for her dedication to the program since it began 4 years ago," said Head Lady Wildcat Golf Coach Jay Rogers. "She grew from a freshman who couldn't hit the ball to a state qualifier, and she will be missed!"
"Avery had a really solid back 9 at the state tournament which bumped her to a 10th place finish. We are proud of her and excited that she is our first CHS Lady Wildcat state medalist."
Chappell is the daughter of John and Julie Chappell of Cassville.
Myers is the daughter of Stephanie and Chaise Myers of Cassville.
