$500 MARE Scholarship Awarded to Elizabeth Ray

Cassville High School Senior, Elizabeth Ray, was selected to receive a MARE/EdCounsel High School Senior Scholarship in the amount of $500.
The Missouri Association of Rural Education, or MARE, offers scholarship programs for students interested in becoming teachers and returning to rural school districts to teach. Students from MARE member school districts are eligible to apply.
Ray was recognized as a MARE scholarship award winner during the Southwest Missouri School Administrators area meeting.
She plans to attend Missouri Southern in the fall and will pursue a degree in mathematics. She aspires to be a middle school math teacher. She is the daughter of Barbie and Curtis Ray of Cassville.
Over the past two years, MARE, with support from EdCounsel, LLC, has provided 55, $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors from all over the state.
